Cedar River Sunset Paddle

Sunday, September 1st | 7:00pm

Relax and unwind this Labor Day weekend with a calm sunset paddle down the Cedar River, one of the wildest places in Leelanau. Our docents will guide you as we paddle downstream from the Cedar boat launch where the river crosses under Kasson St. (Rte. 651) returning shortly after sunset. The total time on the river will be about 2 ½ hours, and there is no place to disembark along the way. We should see sunset from the river, which can be beautiful with the reflections on the water and silhouetted trees. Participants must bring their own kayak or canoe (SUP not recommended) and a PFD for each person in the boat. Mosquito repellent is highly recommended, as are binoculars and a camera (with a dry bag, please!). Registration is required because this event is limited to 20 boats.
