FULL- Mindfulness in Nature Walk at Swanson Preserve

Saturday, October 5th | 10:00am

The Leelanau Conservancy invites you to join guest speaker, Gloria Garrett, on a journey into the senses.

Sight, Scent & Sound: Tapping into theRe-Creational Power of Nature

Clear your mind, refresh your body and sink into the heart of nature as the Leelanau Peninsula begins a new day. Mindfulness in Nature blends nature interpretation and science with forest bathing, a sensory experience that allows you to deepen your personal connection to the land.

This special walk will be co-led by Leelanau Conservancy docent, Ann McInnis, and guest speaker, Gloria Garrett, PhD. We’ll begin at the Swanson Preserve trailhead, go on a guided nature walk to one or two lookout points, and conclude with a few minutes of quiet to give you time to let your senses expand and bathe in the beauty of the morning. The walk will last about 2 hours.

Gloria is founder, facilitator and trainer for Mindfulness in Nature, a gifted nature photographer, a Certified Interpretive Guide with the National Association for Interpretation, and a Certified Naturalist with the University of California, San Diego Natural Reserve System. Her PhD is in Energy Medicine, bringing mind and body into balance with the support of nature.
