Winter changes the textures we can see and touch. Join docents Sharon Oriel, Joanne Gerben, Karin Jacobson and Marsha Buehler to explore how our senses interact with winter textures. Swanson Preserve is a quiet place to touch/see the bark of majestic pine and oak. Feel the knotty grapevine that looks like something Tarzan could swing on. Will the snow be light and fluffy or densely packed? What green leaves will be showing in the flowing streams? We may see the textures of ice as the stream flows into Little Traverse Lake. Stout boots or snowshoes are recommended for this flat loop walk. We will be out for about 1.5 hours.
