Christine’s love of nature began at an early age under the tutelage of a beloved aunt. Her journey continued through working with a community of dairy farmers and producers in Ohio and as a county Extension Agent in Rochester, New York. As a Board Member of the Michigan Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, Christine was awakened to the global impact of conservation. Experiences with Friends of Sleeping Bear and Preserve Historic Port Oneida introduced her to local preservation efforts. With her family, Christine is currently restoring a barn that once stood on the property of the Manitou View Inn located in Glen Arbor. They have a recently adopted two heritage animals: a draft mule, Homer, and an Appalossa mare, Pearl. Her husband, Gary and son David are partners in an orthodontic practice in Grand Rapids. Daughter Sarah and her family also live in Grand Rapids, spending as much time at the “Inn” as time permits.
