Jeanie Williams grew up in Cadillac, MI and has always been a lover of water and an enthusiastic observer of nature. She attended Kalamazoo College for biology and environmental studies then did her graduate work at Antioch University New England in environmental science and secondary science education. She works as an educator, scientist, and naturalist to explore and examine nature and to connect people to the land and to their community. She has performed plant and animal surveys and led groups of all ages through freshwater and marine ecosystems, uplands and wetlands. Jeanie resides in Suttons Bay and frequents wild places throughout Leelanau County on foot, ski and paddleboard, and with her nature sketchbook in hand.
